This acute care project consisted of completely removing and rebuilding a state-of-the-art stem cell transplant unit. This unit is made up of 13 patient rooms and all associated medical support spaces. The mechanical systems are extremely complex and extensive. The delivery and installation of the laminar flow system within the existing footprint was managed and coordinated by our technical team effectively and efficiently. We also installed an elaborate self-contained water treatment station and distribution system.
All renovations were preformed directly adjacent to occupied acute care pediatric inpatient spaces. All treatments and healthcare activities continued completely unimpeded or interrupted during our installations. G. Greene Construction worked closely with Children's Hospital and the architect during the pre-construction phase to ensure the space would allow each patient to be as mobile and comfortable as possible during treatment.
