ED Core Renovations

G. Greene Construction completed a multi-phased renovation to 10,000 S/F of the Emergency Department at Children’s Hospital Boston. Construction included numerous exam rooms, four triage rooms as well as a waiting area, nurses’ stations and multiple treatment rooms. In addition, the existing registration, security and access desks were all revamped with a matching child-friendly décor. The G. Greene team replaced three unit ventilators and installed a new air handling unit for the recently renovated radiography room. G. Greene worked with Children’s Hospital to seamlessly coordinate the relocation of the Emergency department staff to a temporary space while constructing a new main and ambulance vestibule. A strict rearrangement process was enforced in order to make sure the ambulances could get in and out without hindering the daily flow of the always busy department.

G. Greene is to be commended for the extra effort that was necessary to complete the detailed work in such a confined and restricted environment. Their goal throughout the project was to keep the environment safe for patients and staff.
