G. Greene will begin renovations to over 55,000 S/F of space at Somerville Hospital in April 2010. The project, which is a design build with Perkins & Will Architects, will encompass extensive renovations to the first, second, fifth and sixth floor of the hospital as well as the addition of a new entryway and two-story elevator. The first and second floor, which will be partially occupied throughout construction, will be transformed into a primary care clinic as well as an eye clinic, with patient and treatment rooms throughout the space. The fifth and sixth floor will be completely renovated to house office space for hospital staff and physicians. G. Greene will work closely with the hospital to ensure that the second floor clinic will remain completely operational while renovations take place. The project is scheduled to be completed by August 2010.
