In June, G. Greene Construction completed Phase I of the Physical Therapy and Community Health Department Expansion at Chelsea Community Health Center. The scope of work included renovating and constructing more than 4,000 S/F to accommodate new offices and patient treatment rooms as well as reception areas. Because there were no freight elevators, all large materials had to be brought into the space with a crane through the side of the building. Close coordination with the hospital staff was essential to schedule shut downs, and minimize noise disturbances.  Phase II of the project, which is a 6,800 S/F fit-out of the pediatric clinic, will commence in early July.  The clinic will include new exam rooms, nurses’ stations and waiting area. In addition, a new isolation exhaust system will be installed that will serve the entire healthcare center.
