The Dedham office of the American Red Cross Blood Services serves as the central hub for the New England area. When additional space was needed at this location to accommodate their growth and expansion, the American Red Cross chose G. Greene. The project, which consisted of a 30,000 square foot expansion and renovation of existing space took place over two phases. The 1st phase required upgrades to the mechanical system as well as construction of a new warehouse and loading dock. The 2nd phase was broken up into four stages, A-D, due to numerous departments being relocated. Phase 2A consisted of a fit-out of approximately 7,000 square feet. The new space is used for blood storage and distribution. Phase 2B consisted of a fit-up to 10,000 S/F of existing lab space. Work involved upgrades to all electrical and mechanical systems as well as a new HVAC.
