The G. Greene team completed multi-phased renovations to three floors within the Countway Library at Harvard Medical School. Each 14,000 S/F floor was gutted and converted into research, office and collection spaces. In keeping with Harvard's prestigious image, high-end millwork with stained oak encompass each floor. In addition, new carpeting and acoustical ceiling tiles complimented with straight and curvilinear partitions are furnished throughout. During the project, G. Greene faced the challenge of working in an occupied area and also lacked easy accessibility to the space due to the absence of a freight elevator. G. Greene overcame these challenges by using a multi-tiered scaffolding platform placed adjacent to the library; all materials were hoisted on to a platform then directed into the building. This fast-track project was completed on schedule.
