G. Greene Construction awarded Kent Street Family Restoration project

April 2008 2.jpgG. Greene Construction was recently awarded the Kent Street House Restoration project for Children's Hospital Boston. This project entails an 11,000 S/F gut renovation to an existing Victorian residential home. The house will be transformed into a home away from home for families whose children are undergoing treatment at the hospital, located nearby in the Longwood Medical area. Not only does the house serve as a comforting place to stay, it also helps to establish a support network in which patients’ families can meet other families who are facing similar situations. The house will be restored with 21st century amenities, 22 bedrooms, a large kitchen, common rooms and a meditation garden. The scope of work will include historic preservation to the exterior facade and interior woodwork, a 5,000 S/F addition and the installation of a four-story elevator. In addition, extensive site work surrounding the perimeter of the house will be performed by the G. Greene site division. The project is scheduled to be completed by February 2009. We are honored to be part of such a unique and gratifying project.

It seems that we always ask the unthinkable of G. Greene Construction, in terms of meeting our very, very demanding schedule, and they never fail to achieve our goals – both with regard to schedule and quality of workmanship.
