In addition to the Clinical Building Expansion, G. Greene Construction simultaneously completed the Richmond Psychiatric Unit, also known as Bader 5. This 18-bed unit specializes in caring for children and adolescents with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, complex somatoform disorders and chronic medical conditions. The Greene team renovated over 12,500 S/F of existing space located within the Main Building. The scope of work required a complete fit-out of the area, including major upgrades to the entire mechanical infrastructure. A new kitchen area, patient lounge, nurse’s station and patient rooms were also incorporated into the space. One of the major challenges of this project was the extremely tight schedule. G. Greene completed this project in just four months meeting the aggressive time frame without disruption to the departments surrounding the unit.

G. Greene is to be commended for the extra effort that was necessary to complete the detailed work in such a confined and restricted environment. Their goal throughout the project was to keep the environment safe for patients and staff.
