Boston Medical Center: BL3 Laboratory

G. Greene recently completed the construction of a BL3 Lab. This project was part of renovations to an existing clinical laboratory at Boston Medical Center Newton Pavilion.  The scope of work included completely sealing the laboratory in order to make it impermeable to liquids. Welded seamless flooring was installed as well as solid surface lab benches, gasketed surface mounted light fixtures, HEPA filters and bubble tight duct dampers.   The lab is served by dual exhaust fans in order to achieve redundant exhaust and appropriate pressurization throughout the space. Because of the indigenous and exotic agents that are researched in a BL3 Lab, G. Greene worked very closely with an independent commissioning agent to ensure that all guidelines and requirements set forth by the Centers for Disease Control, National Institutes of Health and Boston Medical Center were met.

It seems that we always ask the unthinkable of G. Greene Construction, in terms of meeting our very, very demanding schedule, and they never fail to achieve our goals – both with regard to schedule and quality of workmanship.
