G. Greene Construction completed renovations to over 3,000 S/F of space to house a new pediatric pain rehabilitation center at Children’s Hospital Boston at Waltham. Physical and occupational therapy/Pilates rooms were then constructed within the new space as well as a training room and a therapy pool. G. Greene was faced with the challenge of excavating, forming and pouring the concrete foundation for the therapy pool within the interior of the building while maintaining negative air conditions within the project limits. Because the space was completely enclosed by an adjacent project currently underway, the Greene team constructed an additional egress in order to allow the rehabilitation center to open on schedule.
The space offers services to children and adolescents with chronic musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain. It’s the most comprehensive stand-alone day hospital program of its kind in the United States. |
