Firewire Gold Safety Award (2023)
G. Greene received the Gold Safety Award of the Hirewire Contractor Assessment Program Rating by registering a safety score of 85-94 in the Safety Assessment Program administered by Highwire Safety.
The Gold Safety level independent audit and safety assessment allow us to work with multiple institutions and clients, including Harvard University. We are proud to be recognized for our superior safety management program.
President’s Circle Risk Control Excellence Award (2022)
G. Greene was recognized by General Contractors Insurance (GCI) Ltd Executive Committee with the President’s Circle Risk Control Excellence Award. We were placed in the top 20% of the best-of-class contractors regarding overall safety and risk control practices that make up GCI.

G. Greene works with a wide variety of clients that utilize third-party safety audits performed by ISNETWorld to evaluate their contractors. Each client uses a different rating system within the ISNET world and our team is proud to have achieved a top level on all of their rating systems.

J. Downey - Director of Safety
J. has been with G. Greene since he joined our team in 2008.
He is a founding member and 1 of 7 on the steering committee for Construction Safety Roundtable of Eastern MA (CSREM). One of the largest alliances with OSHA of Safety professionals that meet monthly to discuss safety topics and subjects for our industry. CSREM is the first ambassador program with OSHA in Region 1.
Joseph Riggi - Assistant Director of Safety
Joseph has been a Safety Manager in the Boston area since 2014 working on projects ranging from heavy civil construction to ground up building construction in the commercial, healthcare and education fields. Joe obtained his CHST in 2019 and holds several safety related certifications. Since November 2021, he has been with G. Greene as the Building Division Safety Manager.
Sam Hrubec - Civil Safety Manager
Sam started his construction safety career in the summer of 2017 as a field safety intern for a natural gas contractor in the Boston area. After graduating with a bachelor of science in occupational health and safety from Keene State College, he continued with them until June 2021. He then became a safety manager for a heavy civil/ Mechanical contractor for two years before starting at GGC in September of 2023. Sam’s notable projects include Logan Airport Terminal E Expansion, Backbay intermediate pressure pipeline extension, and MBTA Norfolk Ave and East Cottage Street bridge replacements.
