Description

G. Greene Civil and Utility Division performed comprehensive work at Stonehill College’s new School of Business Academic Building. Scope of work included demolition of the existing building’s foundation and underground utilities, excavation installation and backfill for new utilities, grading and paving of 20,000 sq ft of asphalt, and new curbing.

Approach

  • Coordinated sitework with the General Contractor to bring the project in on budget & on time
  • Took proactive safety measures, as campus was in active use by students
  • Temporary access road through campus quad maintained pedestrian traffic
  • Worked directly with the owner

Results

  • Demolished trees, vegetation, asphalt, below grade fuel tank, underground utilities
  • Preformed excavation for foundation
  • Excavated and backfilled for new gas line, water system, telephone duct bank, electric service duct bank, new footings and foundations, sub slab plumbing
  • Installed new sewer line, drainage manhole, drain line
  • Installed a new subsurface infiltration system and provided finish grading for landscape preparation
  • Re-graded and paved new asphalt parking lot, concrete sidewalks and installed new curbing
