In collaboration with the owner and G. Greene’s Building Division, our Civil & Utilities Division played a vital role in the successful completion of a 40,000 sq ft building addition. This scope of work included clearing a two-acre lot, relocating the existing campus fire protection line and communication network between buildings, excavation for the new addition, creating a bio-retention area, and establishing sewer lines around the new building, alongside finishing touches like landscaping, paving, and curbing.

The project involved several essential components aimed at enhancing the facility’s capabilities. Key elements included the construction of seismic isolation slabs specifically designed for anechoic chambers, ensuring optimal sound isolation. Additionally, comprehensive MEP services were implemented, including installing compressed air drops, natural gas lines for rooftop units, and chilled water piping to support various system needs. Fire protection was a priority, leading to installing a new 8-inch service line and specialized fire protection systems across all facility levels.
The project demanded careful coordination among various stakeholders, particularly the owner and G. Greene’s Building Division. To achieve the desired outcomes, several key strategies were implemented. One notable approach was the efficient relocation and reuse of excavated materials. Additionally, great emphasis was placed on maintaining and expanding the existing fire protection system. This required meticulous planning to ensure no disruptions to ongoing operations throughout the construction process, showcasing a commitment to safety.
The Bristol Building Addition project for Raytheon Technologies represents a significant milestone in modern manufacturing facility construction. The development was part of a larger initiative to enhance the operational capabilities of the existing manufacturing campus while adhering to LEED certification standards. By prioritizing sustainability and integrating advanced engineering solutions, G. Greene’s Civil Division delivered a facility that not only meets current operational needs but is also designed for future growth.
