As President, Bob Greene has guided G. Greene Construction into one of the premier construction management firms in the Northeast, with a strong presence in healthcare, life sciences, higher education, defense, energy, and site work. Under his leadership, G. Greene has expanded its capabilities while continuing to deliver complex projects for many of New England’s most respected institutions.
Bob’s career began under the tutelage of his father, founder Gabe Greene. From his early days as an equipment operator and laborer, to serving as superintendent and project manager, he developed a deep understanding of the business from the ground up. In 1996, Bob assumed the presidency, carrying forward his father’s vision of integrity, trust, and client service.
His leadership is defined by a commitment to relationships that endure. Bob has preserved and strengthened partnerships with some of the region’s most well-known and respected institutions. These long-standing relationships reflect his steady leadership and reinforce the company’s reputation for reliability and excellence.
Grounded in family tradition yet forward-focused, Bob ensures that G. Greene continues to flourish while staying true to its roots. His approach balances growth and innovation with the enduring values that have defined the company since 1966.

For over 40 years, Tom Bettle has been instrumental in shaping the financial framework of G. Greene Construction. Beginning his journey as Accounting Manager and Controller, he has risen to the role of Chief Financial Officer, where he has developed robust systems and processes that inspire confidence among stakeholders in the company’s capacity to manage complex, high-value projects. Under his guidance, G. Greene has cultivated the financial strength necessary to support a dedicated workforce while fostering growth across diverse markets.
As CFO, Tom plays a pivotal role in providing strategic oversight for all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, capital planning, and risk management. He champions transparency and accountability, ensuring that essential resources are in place to deliver projects on time and within budget. Tom holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Bryant College and an Executive MBA from Suffolk University. His commitment to the industry is reflected in his active participation and past presidency of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).
With a collaborative and forward-thinking approach, Tom engages closely with executives, project teams, and external partners to align financial strategies with client expectations and project delivery objectives. His expertise, integrity, and steady leadership provide reassurance to owners and partners that G. Greene is financially robust, operationally resilient, and well-equipped to support even the most demanding construction programs.

Mentored early on by founder Gabe Greene, Kevin built his career from the ground up—rising from laborer to superintendent and project manager. With more than 38 years of experience, he now stands as a cornerstone of G. Greene’s Healthcare Market and Building Division, where his leadership has been instrumental in shaping the company’s reputation for managing some of New England’s most complex and demanding projects.
As Senior Vice President, Kevin brings a confident, steady hand to every challenge. He oversees and mentors project teams, instilling a culture of precision, accountability, and collaboration. His expertise in navigating the logistical complexities of occupied facilities makes him an indispensable leader—ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and without disruption to critical operations.
Kevin’s portfolio spans many of the region’s most prominent healthcare and higher education institutions. His longstanding relationships with executives, architects, and subcontractors are a testament to his ability to build trust and deliver excellence at every level.
Respected as both a strategist and mentor, Kevin is often found guiding design teams and owners through sequenced installations and efficient project delivery. His leadership continues to inspire confidence among clients, colleagues, and the next generation of builders at G. Greene Construction.

Peter DeSisto joined G. Greene in 2009, bringing more than 20 years of site and civil construction experience as both a superintendent and project manager. Over the past 17 years, he has grown into a key leader of the firm, guiding the Civil Division with a focus on energy and site development markets.
With his early exposure to construction and a natural curiosity for engineering, Peter built a career that was both hands-on and deeply technical. He earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology, complementing his field experience with a strong academic foundation. From his early career as a project manager to his leadership role today, Peter has consistently demonstrated a methodical, steady approach to delivering results.
With over 40 years of expertise, Peter provides invaluable direction to estimators, project managers, engineers, and field staff. He manages workforce and equipment scheduling, oversees site logistics, and serves as the point person on all division projects. His ability to navigate complex sitework challenges ensures projects are delivered with precision and efficiency.
Peter has built and sustained strong relationships with many of the region’s leading organizations, reinforcing G. Greene’s position as a trusted partner in civil and energy infrastructure. Respected by clients, peers, and his team alike, he is recognized as a steady, results-driven leader who continues to advance the capabilities of the Civil Division.

Richard “Rick” Shearns has been a transformative leader at G. Greene for more than a decade, bringing over 30 years of construction management expertise to the firm. As Project Executive, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening G. Greene’s position in the defense, healthcare, and public markets. His leadership has been instrumental in expanding the Building Division’s capabilities and establishing the firm as a trusted partner on some of the region’s most complex, mission-critical projects.
Rick’s impact extends beyond project execution. He has been a champion of innovation and forward-looking strategies, recognizing early on that technology adaptation is not a luxury in construction but a necessity for competitiveness and excellence. Under his guidance, G. Greene’s project teams have embraced advanced tools, processes, and systems that enhance efficiency, improve safety, and ensure precision. His approach has elevated the firm’s ability to deliver projects that meet the highest standards while aligning with evolving industry demands.
With a portfolio spanning hospitals, research institutions, and defense organizations, Rick has consistently demonstrated his ability to navigate complex environments while driving client satisfaction and long-term partnerships. He holds a B.S. in Construction Technology from Fitchburg State College and is licensed as a Construction Supervisor in Massachusetts and the City of Cambridge.

J. Downey has been a vital member of the G. Greene team for over 20 years, bringing extensive field experience and unmatched expertise in construction safety to his role. Beginning his career as a Project Superintendent, J. gained a deep understanding of jobsite operations before transitioning to his leadership role as Director of Safety. Today, he oversees all field operations, ensuring safety remains at the forefront of every project.
As Director of Safety, J. is responsible for implementing and enforcing all corporate safety policies and procedures. As an authorized OSHA instructor, he delivers training programs that align with and exceed OSHA regulations, equipping teams with the knowledge and tools necessary to perform their work with the highest level of safety and compliance. His leadership has reinforced G. Greene’s reputation as one of the safest contractors in the region.
Beyond his role at G. Greene, J. is a founding member of the Construction Safety Roundtable of Eastern Massachusetts (CSREM), one of the largest OSHA alliances of safety professionals in the region. Serving as one of seven leaders on the CSREM steering committee, he plays an active role in advancing industry-wide safety practices. Notably, CSREM became the first ambassador program with OSHA in Region 1, reflecting the group’s influence and credibility.
J.’s leadership philosophy is rooted in proactive risk management, accountability, and education. By fostering a culture where safety is a shared responsibility, he ensures that every project is delivered with the highest standards of care for people, performance, and compliance.

For more than 36 years, Timothy Connaughton has been a cornerstone of G. Greene, carrying forward both family legacy and operational expertise. His career reflects the same values of hard work and reliability that his father, Bob Connaughton, demonstrated as a longtime Project Manager under company founder Gabe Greene.
As Field Operations Manager, Tim oversees the Hyde Park Facility and manages all G. Greene laydown yard facilities, properties, and fleet. He directs day-to-day crew activities while providing leadership for long-range operational strategies that keep equipment, trucks, and facilities performing at peak capacity. Tim is responsible for asset acquisition and replacement, facility organization, and logistics planning, ensuring that every project has the resources, equipment, and manpower required to start strong and finish successfully.
His leadership extends beyond daily operations—Tim establishes and enforces standards for equipment maintenance, safety, and utilization that protect investments and maximize efficiency across the company. By aligning workforce management with disciplined fleet and property oversight, he ensures G. Greene’s operations remain reliable, cost-effective, and project ready. Tim’s decades of field knowledge and operational discipline continue to strengthen the company’s ability to deliver complex construction projects with confidence and precision.
