MEP Coordinator

We are seeking an MEP Coordinator to join our team. Individual must have a minimum of 10 years construction project management/MEP coordination experience. The ideal candidate will administer MEP aspects of the project from the preconstruction budgeting, bid scope reviews, schedule stage through procurement, shop drawing / coordination development, RFIs, construction, testing, commissioning, inspections, occupancy and contract closeout

RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Perform constructability reviews of MEP construction documents
▪ Write RFIs and develop sketches for clarification of design documents or request direction on field conditions
▪ Work with subcontractors to develop start-up procedures and oversee equipment / system start-up
▪ Take lead role in working with the TAB contractor to balance air and water systems
▪ Schedule the commissioning documentation and training with Owner / Engineer
▪ Develop MEP Punchlist
▪ Monitor construction schedule for MEP trades progress
▪ Work with superintendents and PMs to develop 2 or 3-week look-ahead schedules
▪ Responsible for coordinate of MEP Trades and identifying potential conflicts
▪ Develop with the project superintendent, a MEP logistics plan that allows the subcontractors to complete their work in a coordinated
▪ Assist the PM in the review and approval of subcontractor / vendor requisitions
▪ Identify any factory visits that may be required and schedule those accordingly
▪ Evaluate schedule and determine when materials should be procured and installed
▪ Enter RFIs into Procore and track progress
▪ Obtain a working knowledge of the mechanical, plumbing & fire suppression codes, life safety codes & local requirements
▪ Conduct weekly job walks to ensure the accuracy and quality of the MEP components
▪ Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and make recommendations or propose solutions
▪ Understand complete MEP building systems scope including Bid Documents, VE, Addenda, Owner’s Equipment
▪ Monitor subtrade safety and have a working knowledge of construction safety
▪ Develop safe and coordinated isolation and/or tie-in with all active systems
▪ Evaluate changes and subcontractor change order estimates relating to MEPs
▪ Enter RFIs into Procore and track progress
▪ Obtain a working knowledge of the mechanical, plumbing & fire suppression codes, life safety codes & local requirements
▪ Conduct weekly job walks to ensure the accuracy and quality of the MEP components

SKILLS
▪ Must possess excellent communication and speaking skills
▪ Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Procore Software
▪ Knowledge of AutoCad and BIM is preferred
▪ OSHA 10/30, LEED, and LEAN Certifications a plus
