Description

This defense contractor requires all contractor and subcontractor personnel to adhere to strict privacy policies. The Jet Engine Assembly Building Roof Replacement included the removal and abatement of an existing 110,000 square foot roof assembly and the replacement with a new Sarnafil membrane insulation product on an existing fully operational Jet Engine assembly building.

Approach

  • Mitigated the falling foreign object debris (FOD) from the underside of the deck onto the active operational floor below during the roof replacement
  • Installed a full containment system on the underside of the deck from lifts that also had a secondary containment system attached to the lift
  • Coordinated this interior containment work with the client floor managers to not disrupt their daily operations
  • Communicated daily to coordinate construction activities with client assembly workers

Results

  • Set up interior containment system, proving highly successful in eliminating any FOD on the floor assembly operations below
  • Remediate asbestos containing materials from roof
  • Install new Sarnafil membrane roof insulation
  • Install new EPDM roof
