Description

A single phase renovation to a neurosurgery tissue culture lab, research lab, IDF Closet, offices, and corridor. Work included MEP upgrades, new exterior windows, new casework, and all new finishes.

Approach

• Carefully managed noise and dust control
• Identified and expedited many long lead items including mechanical units and exterior windows
• All shutdowns and switchovers tightly coordinated with Building and Grounds MGH staff
• Ran weekly coordination meetings with laboratory staff and owner
• Worked with design team to expedite practical responses to RFIs and avoid significant impacts to the schedule
• Scheduled intrusive and disruptive work during off hours

Results

• Work completed around occupied labs with minimal disruption to MGH Operations
• Leveraging of relationships with key vendors and procuring items early minimized impact of design changes / long lead items
• Project successfully completed on time and within budget
