Description

The G. Greene Civil & Utility Division completed a 345kV substation expansion. Scope of work included drilled caissons, cast in place concrete foundations, conduit grounding, grading, and fencing.

Approach

• Maintained a tight schedule for the owner
• Considered site soil conditions and proximity to the river throughout the entirety of the project
• Maintained access to adjacent 115 kV substation throughout construction
• Temporary access road for rigging of new transformer from nearby rail line

Results

• Installed 35 foot shafts for new transmission structures due to proximity of the river
• Installed over 50 foundations
• Installed drilled Caisson foundation
• Installation of 19,000 LF of ground grid
• Installation of 1,300 LF of cable trench
• 2.5 acres of finish grading and yard stone
• Excavated and backfilled for new underground duct banks
