Boston Children’s Hospital ED Trauma Renovations

By G. Greene Construction on May 22, 2014

G. Greene Construction recently completed renovations to the Trauma Treatment Rooms located in the Emergency Department at Boston Children’s Hospital. This extremely busy Emergency Department treats injured children ranging from the very young to adolescents and young adults 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As you can imagine it was crucial the staff was able to treat their patients without being interrupted by the construction going on around them and the area was kept sterile, free from debris. In order to achieve this our project team coordinated with the Facilities Staff, as well as another General Contractor working within close proximity to ensure all work was sequenced properly. Due to the sensitivity of the environment the construction was performed in three phases. The Scope of Work included acoustical ceilings and resilient flooring, custom architectural woodwork, patient headwalls, equipment booms, adjustable fixtures and replacement of distribution systems for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection.
